Attaining greatness with minimal grind – isn’t that what we all dream of?
Just like the holy grail of low risk – high returns in finance, why shouldn’t we strive for the same in personal productivity? Lets be strategic and cherry-pick those few techniques which are low in effort, but once done consistently can change your lives.
Here are a few low effort, high impact hacks that I’ve tried, tested, and loved – a quick 2×2 for a summary:

Daily Highlight
Everyday, pick out or write down ONE achievable thing you’d want to accomplish.

I’ve borrowed the idea of daily highlight from the book Make Time.
The idea is so simple that many tend to overlook its benefits. The key here is to make the task achievable so you get a sense of accomplishment and not regret.
Start off with simple, easy-to-do tasks – like calling mom, or doing the laundry or clearing out the dishes. Don’t try to move the mountain on the first day. Evolve along with the process.
Write it down. Stick to it. You will be surprised at the sense of achievement completing a single task can bring.
Note Taking
Get your digital brain up and running!

If you’re thinking without writing, you only think you’re thinking.
– Leslie Lamport
You know that feeling when you swear you’ll remember something, only to forget it minutes later?
Our brain is designed to process huge amounts of data but does a terrible job in storing them – for most people. That’s where note-taking saves the day.
Start jotting down tasks or information that you think are relevant in your own words.
Copy-paste won’t help you here. Make the notes your own so that it is internalised. It not only helps you remember but also enhances your leaning.
Though a book would also do, I highly recommend going digital – it weaves in the factor of easy search-ability.
Keep it digital. Keep it simple.
WhatsApp / Telegram Self Group
Building your own safe space and morph it to your needs!
You must have come across this suggestion from various other sources . Let me reinforce the hack again, because it is that useful.
To create your own WhatsApp or Telegram group, create a group and add one of your close friends or family to the group. Next, kick them out of the group, and voila ! You now have your own personal digital space that works for you.
This digital safe space you just created can act as a personal database where you can store and share important documents, as a note taking platform to capture todos or notes in a pinch, or as your inner voice where you can chat with yourself.
It’s your private, digital swiss army knife.
Bonus Hack: Expense Tracking
Keep track of where you spend and earn your financial freedom!
Ever wondered where all your money goes?
This hack makes you the Sherlock Holmes of your finances. By tracking your income and expenses, you not only become financially aware but also achieve financial freedom. I found Google Forms and Sheets to be my Watson in this journey.
Measure to know yourself better. And once that happens, chip away at your weak points.
You can apply the same technique to also track other aspects of your life – like time, habits, exercises etc.
Final Thoughts
It’s about time we toss out the notion that monumental change requires monumental effort. In reality, it’s often the smallest shifts, the simplest habits, that steer us towards an improved way of living.
I’m excited to see how you use the above techniques to improve your life. Let’s turn the seemingly ordinary into extraordinary, one small step at a time.
